Physicals and Blood Work
We heard from our grant agency this week that we needed to all have major physicals and blood work to qualify for the award. This means an unavoidable trip to the doctor tomorrow for all four of our children, none of whom like needles. It made me wonder if this isn't the first of many small sacrifices not only we but our children will have to make in the coming months. Though doing without corn dogs and ice cream and swimming pools and movie theatres may be fine for us parents, it is never easy to see your kids have to do without. I'm sure God has plans not only for growing our hearts but for stretching their little hearts and minds as well. We pray He will cover all those times for them when they simply can't see the bigger picture and all they want is to come back to their familiar comforts. But tomorrow, we simply pray for strong hands to hold them still while we offer reassuring words of "almost done, really". Thank you for your prayers on behalf of our little family.
