Shots, Prescriptions and Immunizations
This is the "medical preparations week" I guess. Lots of advice from Pediatrician (thanks Dr. Kelley!) and the health dept. regarding our preparations. We are making our list (it's long) of shots the kids have to get, figuring out which medications to take to Ethiopia with us, and finding out how much all of this will cost (over $900 worth of shots). Thankfully, we also found out our health plan covers 100% of non-routine immunizations for travel (yea God!). Lydia woke up crying in the night with ear pain night before last and I knew it meant ear infection...normally, I would have taken her first thing to the doctor the next am for antibiotics. Knowing we may not have that kind of access in Ethiopia to a doctor and good drugs, I decided to take away all dairy products for two days, give her tylenol, and even tried a little non-conventional technique I heard about. Last night she slept like a baby and feels great today...it somehow built my confidence that God will provide for our needs, even away from all our developed resources. Amazing all the little lessons that are being learned along with this adventure!
