THE BLOG IS POSTING PROPERLY AGAIN!
Sorry for the long delay in posts - not only has life been crazy, I have been trying to incorporate our blog with our newly updated web site and up until today, I hadn't had the time to really figure out why none of our archived posts were showing up. Finally this week I had time. Why the change? GUESS WHAT - SCHOOL STARTED!!!! Yep, it is much more quiet around here from 9-3 Monday through Friday, resulting in Mom getting a bit more work done. It also leads to my mind racing with all the things I WANT to get done. Here are few:
- Raising funds and receiving donated equipment and supplies for my upcoming October trip to Ethiopia. We are assisting Operation Rescue with getting their medical clinic up and running, and we need about $5,000 worth of supplies to get things moving.
- Touching base with my 3 families recently home with their 6 kids - all the changes (that I know so well) can be overwhelming.
- Fundraising for our new House of Promise for HIV+ children, opening soon in Mekelle. Watch for details on the website! We have a few sick children needing to get in right away!
- Figuring out the partnership details with a newly licensed fantastically like-minded adoption agency that is setting up their program in Ethiopia. How fun!
- Umm....did I mention laundry? Wow....5 kids produce alot of clothes and towels, especially during soccer season!
- Homework - yes, my little 4th grader ELL student is giving it her all in an English-speaking school, and doing quite well, but I have to plan on spending some time helping her read her homework and making sure she understands all the new vocabulary words to which she is being exposed. She is an eager student, and a quick study, but still....it is some work.
I'm excited to be back online with the blog, and will be posting more regular updates now. I am trying to make a trip in October, and hoping to have some things in place before the trip so that I can really focus my efforts during my 10 days there on the HIV House, the Clinic, and spending special time with some of our waiting children who are becoming anxious or worried about being "chosen". It's hard to explain to them why some go to American and some stay, but this is all part of a sovereign God's plan, and we can only struggle to explain it to little minds. Please join me in prayer for all these aspects of carrying out our projects in Mekelle!
